This past weekend in McAllen, our 2013 Boys Academy and 15U Girls Academy were crowned District and STX State Champions. Two teams, two titles—but more importantly, one shared story built over years of commitment, patience, and belief in the process.
At Villarreal Houston Academy, we have always believed that true success is not defined by a single result, but by the journey of development. These championships are not overnight achievements. They are the outcome of years of consistent work from players, coaches, and families who have trusted a long-term vision.
Many of the players on these teams began their journey with us as young as 4 years old. From their first touches on the ball to now competing—and winning—at the state level between ages 13 to 15, their growth reflects what happens when development is prioritized over short-term results.
This is what our academy stands for:
Building strong technical foundations at an early age
Developing confidence, decision-making, and love for the game
Teaching resilience through both victories and setbacks
Because the reality is simple: the path to success is not linear. There have been many finals played, many tough losses, and moments where these teams came up just short. But those experiences were not failures—they were necessary steps in the journey. Sometimes, you have to lose… and lose again… to truly learn how to win.
What makes this achievement even more meaningful is the commitment of our families. We are incredibly grateful to the parents and supporters who traveled to McAllen this weekend, standing by their players every step of the way. Your belief, sacrifice, and energy are a fundamental part of this success.
We also want to recognize and thank the families who have recently joined our academy. Your trust in our development environment strengthens our community and continues to push our standards higher every day.
This moment belongs to everyone who has been part of the journey—past and present. It is a reflection of a culture built on patience, passion, and long-term vision.
As we celebrate these achievements—being crowned District and State Champions—we remain grounded in who we are and what we believe:
Development first. Always.
Because in the end, it’s not just about raising trophies—it’s about raising players who are prepared for the next level, on and off the field.
Two teams. One academy. One vision. 🏆💛
