At Villarreal Houston Academy, our mission has always been clear—to provide our players with meaningful development opportunities, both on and off the field. This spring has been a perfect reflection of that vision, as our players continue to gain exposure, compete at high levels, and represent our academy across local, national, and international stages.

🇲🇽 A Professional Experience in Mexico City

From March 16th–20th, a group of our players traveled to Mexico City for an unforgettable experience with Mineros de Zacatecas Fuerzas Básicas, the youth development system of a professional club in Mexico.

This was not just a training camp—it was a full immersion into the professional academy environment. Our players trained under professional coaches, participated in competitive friendly matches, and were part of a player identification process. Beyond the field, they experienced what it means to live the daily habits and expectations of elite-level players.

These types of experiences are key in helping our players understand that growth comes from stepping outside of their comfort zone and embracing new challenges.

🏆 STX State Tournament Begins

As we look ahead, one of the most exciting competitions of the season is about to begin. Starting March 28th, Villarreal Houston Academy will have 10 teams competing in the South Texas State Championships.

Our boys and girls teams, ranging from 2009 to 2015 age groups, have worked tirelessly throughout the season to earn this opportunity. The State Tournament represents one of the highest levels of competition in our region, and our players are ready to compete for a chance to be crowned South Texas State Champions.

We are proud of every team representing our academy and look forward to seeing them compete with passion, discipline, and confidence.

🌎 Pathways Beyond Houston

One of the pillars of Villarreal Houston is creating pathways for players to reach the next level. This spring, several of our players will represent the academy in prestigious events across the country and internationally.

Brydon Singleton Called Up to Dynamo Academy

Our 2013 player, Brydon Singleton, has earned a call-up to represent Dynamo Academy at the Rayados International Tournament in Orlando, Florida.

Brydon’s opportunity highlights the strength of our partnerships and the different pathways available to our top-performing players. We are proud to see him take this next step and represent both Dynamo Academy and Villarreal Houston with class.

🇪🇸 Majorca International Football Cup

From April 1st–5th, five of our Villarreal Houston girls will travel to Spain to compete in the Majorca International Football Cup, representing Villarreal CF on an international stage.

Piper Frith, Analiese Rivas, Niya Nganga, Grace Newell, and Caslin Esteban will face top academies from around the world in a highly competitive environment. This experience will not only challenge them as players but also help them grow as individuals.

Opportunities like this are a testament to their hard work, commitment, and the level of development within our academy.

🇪🇸 International Yellow Cup – Easter

Continuing the international presence, Caleb Coronel will represent Villarreal CF at the International Yellow Cup in Spain, competing with the 18U squad.

Caleb’s journey is a great example of what consistent performance, discipline, and confidence can lead to. Competing at this level against top international talent will be another important step in his development.

Building More Than Players

At Villarreal Houston Academy, we believe that these experiences go far beyond soccer. They shape mindset, character, and ambition. Whether it’s competing in a state tournament, training with a professional academy, or traveling internationally, every opportunity is designed to push our players toward greatness.

We are incredibly proud of all our players and grateful for the continued support from our families. The journey continues, and this is only the beginning.

Let’s keep building. Let’s keep growing. Let’s keep representing Villarreal Houston with pride. 💛⚽
